A few moments ago, Nike officially unveiled the Nike Air Mag AKA “Marty McFly” shoe. As stated earlier, Nike announced that 1500 pairs of this shoe will be auctioned on eBay, nikemag.eBay.com, with all net proceeds going directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The auction will begin tonight at 8:30PM PST and end on September 18 (150 pairs will be posted on eBay per day for 10 days). The Nike Air Mag has been anticipated for the longest as it first showed its face in the 1989 2015 released film Back to the Future.

Leading up to the release of the Nike Air Mag, a 50 million match grant was given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation by Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki; they will match all donations to the foundation, up to 50 million dollars, through the end of 2012. (Nice Kicks)

Oh. My. God. It's taking every ounce of my energy to not cash out my 401k and buy a pair of these things. I've wanted a pair of the Nike Air Mags since I was like 8 and I watched "Back to the Future II" for the first time. Nike definitely did a great job recreating these things and they are going to make a killing off them. The LED lights are just nasty. Tinie Tempah, a rapper from the UK, bought the first pair for $37,500. Not sure if I could pull them off but I would love to give it a try. If you want to get me an early birthday present here's your chance.

P.S. My new favorite site is Nice Kicks. Just discovered it and it's a must read if your even remotely interested in sneakers.

P.P.S. Now that the Air Mags are out where the hell is my hoverboard?
