Ravens Promote Dean Pees, Reportedly Hire Jim Caldwell

Dean Pees

The Ravens decided to promote from within after Chuck Pagano left for Indy, opting to give Dean Pees a chance to run the Ravens defense. He will take our at defensive coordinator, a position he held with the Patriots from 2005-2009. You know....back when the Pats actually played defense!! The Pees promotion didn't really come as a shock. The Ravens love to promote from within when possible and Pees was definitely qualified. Coach Harbaugh has promised that the attacking style we saw from the Ravens defense under Pagano will remain for 2012. Sounds good but any fans that aren't sure about the promotion should really..........

The Ravens also reportedly hired Jim Caldwell as their quarterbacks coach. Ironically he was the head coach of the Colts before being fired after a 2-14 season. Caldwell seems like a decent hire, although I would have loved to see Hue Jackson return to Baltimore. I honestly don't know much about him except that he was Peyton Manning's QB coach for six years, which can only be a good thing, has head coaching experience, plus he would kick anyone's ass in a staring contest.
